Our proposal about itineraries for a 3 days / 1 week long stay

Day 1

After arriving and setting in, you can reach the center of Montecatini Alto in a few minutes by car, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. A nice alternative, much appreciated by children is the Funicular route, for information www.funicolare-montecatini.it.

Day 2

If you want to fill up on sweetness and take home some delicacies for breakfast or a good snack, we will take you to our friend Sabrina’s pastry shop, via Petrocchi 189 Monsummano Terme.

Alternatively, we suggest an afternoon visit to the village of Montecarlo di Lucca, www.comune.montecarlo.lu.it, recommending that you book early if you want to dine along the suggestive main street as it is a destination of great value.

If, on the other hand, you want to try the experience of a typical and true Tuscan butchery for dinner, we suggest the place: the “Il Maialetto” box office in Monsummano Terme, our trusted butchery shop, for information.

Day 3

A visit not to be overlooked and easily reachable even after check out is the one in the city of Pistoia, a splendid city about 8 minutes by motorway with a large pedestrian area and full of attractive streets and squares, including Piazza della Sala and Piazza Duomo.

Day 4

In addition to the attractions already illustrated, we can suggest a day dedicated to visiting the city of Pisa, inviting you not to limit the stop to the famous Piazza dei Miracoli, but to enter the most beautiful Tuscan Lungarno. Pisa is easily reachable in less than 30 minutes on the motorway or always by train from the Montecatini Terme-Monsummano station and we can say that it reserves splendid views for those who will take the time to visit it as it deserves.

For a refined dinner with a breathtaking view, we suggest the Montaccolle Restaurant whose tasting menu cannot be forgotten.

If, on the other hand, you prefer a less demanding dinner and perhaps in the cool of the mountain air, you can take the Marlianese road and you will be spoiled for choice, for the countless restaurants along the way.

Day 5

In 40 minutes by motorway, you can reach Versilia, with the lively Viareggio, Lido di Camaiore, Marina di Pietrasanta, and the famous Forte dei Marmi and enjoy a pleasant day at the beach, in one of the countless beaches full of attractions. If you want to combine the pleasure of a day at the beach with a walk immersed in art, we suggest you spend the evening in Pietrasanta, you will be enchanted.

Day 6

Why not organize the whole day for a visit to Florence? From Montecatini Terme station in 50 minutes you arrive in Santa Maria Novella, with all of Florence at your feet. By car 40/45 minutes depending on traffic, you can also park in the internal parking of the station.

Back home, if you want, you can choose between a good pizza from Natalino in Monsummano Terme to a more typical dinner in the center of Montecatini Terme at the Osteria di Poneta.

Day 7

How to resist the charm of the imposing Apuan Alps, the intense and tragic history they lived through? Once in Versilia the shimmering sea will flow on your left, while on your right you will find landscapes worthy of the best Dolomites, scattered with typical villages and memories.
